When I saw this wooden tray, I knew I had to gift it to my dad. But, first, I'd transform it into an ocean. I wanted a robust look to match the wood of the tray. So I chose darker colors; chose sand matching the wood nicely, and dark hues for the water. I then added strong and wild waves, and finished it with a clear coat to flatten the surface so it could actually be used as a tray. My dad in the end preferred looking at it than using it, so keeps it as an ornament.
